In a few short weeks, the 40,000+ Michigan State University students will flood back into East Lansing, the air will start to cool, and it will be time to get back in the range! I have been looking forward to the start of the academic year all summer. Going into my fourth and last year at MSU, I am ecstatic to make it the most memorable year I’ve ever had.
I have been a member and competed with the MSU Rifle and Pistol Club for the past three years, and it feels like it has all lead me to here and now. I’ve already decided that this is my year. I’ve competed in a lot of competitions and even taken some titles, but I always wondered what it would feel like to win it all.
At the 2012 NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Nationals, I ended my shooting season with the highest air pistol score I’ve ever posted. Shooting a 546/600, I left Fort Benning, Georgia standing on top of the world. Five months later, I’m ready to get that feeling back and kick off this season with a bang.
I can’t wait to see all the club members, and welcome new ones too. There are so many possibilities for this club to grow!
